Sr. Director of Engineering/Maintenance & Facilities

Diamond Foods, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Director of Engineering/Maintenance & Facilities to support Diamond’s rapid growth and expansion in the consumer markets. This position will be part of the Operations Team and report to the Vice President of Operations and based in Stockton, California.
Job Summary:
- Leads the Engineering team to work with the "go to market" team to develop processing and packaging solutions that meet the defined needs and minimize costs. This will include processing and packaging development and floor automation.
- Works very closely with cross functional teams across multiple locations and departments including, marketing, sales, operations, logistics, accounting, finance, and information systems to bring new products to market and reduce processing and packaging costs. Carry out deliverables assigned to support the team goals.
- Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities within the Diamond organization.
- Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives.
- Oversees the maintenance, facilities and engineering departments at the Stockton facility.
- Negotiates with vendors on parts, equipment, tools, machinery, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Leadership of all functions within the Corporate Engineering department.
- Maintain the Corporate capital budget.
- Create budgets, allocate resources and determine schedules for corporate projects.
- Ensure that all capital projects meet the stated goals (deliverables, budget and training).
- Support product development proess and new materials applications.
Qualifications:
- A successful candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of project & engineering management experience in CPG industry.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Management experience required.
